Irnai waited for the talk to quiet, then stood up again.
"We have discussed Leshka," she said in her clear, crisp voice. "We now ask for another nomination." She glanced over the still band and sighed. "I never thought I'd see the day that the members of Tavol were unwilling to share their insight, ideas, and opinions," she commented drily.
"Gries!"
The name called out was for the leaders of the scouts and guards. Well known for the loyalty of those who reported to him, and the loyalty he gave right back. Without any instructions, the blonde elf rose to his feet and quietly walked away from the council, following in Leshka's footsteps.
Before discussion could begin, another name was called out. The nominator had a young voice, and that wasn't suprising given the name she said. "Pirro!"
"Oh, I don't think so!" Pirro laughed, shaking his head so hard that his flaming red hair flew. "But thank you anyway."
"That choice is not yours," Eron said quietly. "Up and out, my friend."
Pirro's mouth dropped open, then he heaved a vast sigh and rose to his feet. "I'll just have to count on the council to have sense." He paused a beat, then groaned. "I'm doomed."

Siyal frowned at Gries's nomination. She respected the leader of the guards and scouts. And she had guessed someone would nominate him, but she still felt the nagging feeling he wasn't right for Bandleader. That he lacked the gentler qualities that would also be needed to guide Tavol.
Pirro's name caught her off guard, and she felt her lips pull into a smile at his words. She should have expected one of the younger elves would nominate him, but she hadn't. She liked Pirro, he was intelligent, and full of questions, but he could also be rash. The latter could easily be a bad thing, especially if put into position to lead the whole band. Though he had led large hunting parties, she knew some of the elders did not always approve his actions. Still, it was something to think on.

Ghelyn to Siyal
Ghelyn slipped through the band to find Siyal, then dropped down on the blanket beside her friend. "Gries and Pirro?" she said, raising her eyebrows. "And Leshka, too. That's three. How many more do you think they'll nominate?"
Tevac to Koda, Astierri, Sohnji
Tevac touched Koda's arm and sent. *Gries and Pirro have been nominated,* he advised the other. *Pirro tried to decline, but Eron told him he couldn't. They leave now.* And so they were. Tevac pointed to the departing elves. He expanded his send to include his lifemates. *Will you nominate anyone?* he asked all three.

Siyal to Ghelyn
"I don't know. I thought someone would nominate Sureen." She replied quietly. There was the unspoken thought that she'd thought Sureen would find someone to nominate her if no one did it on their own. "Will you nominate Vanda?" She asked her.
She knew Ghelyn had suggested the camp organizer when they first spoke of the nominations. She herself had no idea who to suggest. Pirro had actually caught her off guard. She almost felt herself leaning toward him of all the nominees so far. She still felt he wasn't right, but what did she know? Perhaps, it was just hard to imagine replacing Mahkir.

"Vanda seems the right sort, the sort of leader Mahkir would be proud to see caring for the band." Ki-Nava cut in gently, having paced her way around. She nodded to Ghelyn. "They're most all good, all gifted, but Vanda's got the best stuff for the title of bandleader, forced to choose as we are now. I would support the nomination."

Siyal to Ghelyn; Ki-Nava
Siyal started when Ki-Nava spoke, not having noticed her approach. She glanced at Ghelyn, hoping she hadn't put her in an awkward position. "You would?" She was honestly curious. "I think some of the hunters might object." She remembered Verrim's words about Vanda mothering them and assigning chores. "But I think some of us crafters don't feel confident in thinking of Gries' as Bandleader either."
She frowned. "Were you ever part of a band when it got a new leader, Ki-nava? Were there- Are there always some that don't feel...confident in who's chosen? Do those elves just switch bands at the next Mustering?" It was hard for Siyal to voice her concerns aloud. She usually kept her opinion to herself. Preferred to say nothing rather than the wrong thing. But her concerns about the new bandleader were eating at her, and Ki-Nava was someone she felt would give good council.

Sohnji to Tevac, Astierri, Koda
Sohnji bit her lip and shook her head. There were too many eyes on her, and some were still unfriendly. *I'll wait this one out,* she sent. *Something tells me there's more going on here than meets the eye. If Sureen isn't playing a game, then the elders may well be.*
