Sylfis was crouched among some flattened boulders half-swallowed by the ground, rolling the beads of his necklace between his fingers and staring ahead with a somber expression so unfamiliar he almost looked a different elf.
Mahkir's death was shockingly new for the young elf, and while he knew from faint sendings that a council was being called for the election of a new bandleader, he remained frozen. He had no words or feelings he could express to any others, simply for the sake of shock, shame that he felt so vulnerable at losing a leader he loved dearly. Death, of the few he'd experienced closely, had never lost it's sting. He should be a part of the election of a new bandleader, but he had nothing to say. Sylfis's emotions were a whirlwind of frustration and shock, and he stayed quietly waiting for them to pass, until he could think clearly and forward to a different future for Tavol's band.
