Regarding the Strangers (Redthorn/Lightgaze)
Post by peachbug on Jun 17, 2009, 5:48pm
(OOC: Taking admin request and suggestion to create a small tangential thread about Redthorn's checking on Lightgaze.)
**Lightgaze? Sister?** Redthorn sent urgently as Lightgaze seemed to reel from her lifemate and sire's name. As Stormfire accepted the newcomers and began to speak with them, she came closer and put a hand on her shoulder. **Don't fall like poor Wingfoot...what do you need?**Re: Regarding the Strangers (Redthorn/Lightgaze)

**To sit. Something steady. Need to understand,** Lightgaze sighed. Her send had gone into nowhere as it usually did, and it made her feel slightly depressed. Re: Regarding the Strangers (Redthorn/Lightgaze)

**This 'Nightsun' has some gift...I though Silent's water seeking was strange enough, though endlessly useful.** Redthorn guided Lightgaze to rest on some softer earth, where dead grass wouldn't prickle. **Perhaps she's just as well. Who knows what good could come of it?** Seeing Lightgaze's still stricken expression, she reached out to hold her. **Perhaps you should speak to Nightsun? If she's spoken with your lifemate...** Redthorn wasn't sure how to end that sentence. What good was bringing back a troubled past? Re: Regarding the Strangers (Redthorn/Lightgaze)

**No!** Lightgaze bursted out, fiercely shaking her head. **The past is the past, we live in the now,** she told Redthorn, and realized it was her soulsister that she was talking to fiercely to. She wringed her hands, trying to calm down. **If she really... you know, really talks with Tracker... if she stays...** She lifted her eyes into the distance, knowing and not knowing what to do at the same time.
**I can't talk to her if I want to keep my focus on the now,** she then confided. **If she is my link to Tracker, then I will never move on. I have to let him go... or maybe, he should let me go, in this scene.** SHe smiled sadly. **But at the other hand... this is my chance. Will I be able to live with myself if Tracker's spirit decides to wander off? I..I..** She bent her head, and rested it in her hands. "I don't know what to do," she softly said, "It's all a mess."Re: Regarding the Strangers (Redthorn/Lightgaze)

"I do not believe the Now of wolf thought ever faced many trials as this." Redthorn murmured, stroking her soul-sister's hair as she she rested her head. "Death is a part of the Now of the Wolfrider, but this maiden..." Her violet eyes drifted off too glance back towards where Nightsun had been. "She has changed this.
**We always knew the spirits of Wolfriders went where they chose. I myself supposed they would remain with the Father Tree of Sureshot's holt, and his ancestors. If Tracker and these spirits followed with such urgency, and truly guided Nightsun here...** She shook her head. **Tracker was always willful. He desired this for the tribe it seems. And for you. I cannot imagine him thinking at all of this but for you firstly, even in passing.** Redthorn leaned to be more level with Lightgaze. "Furthermore...you have lived these long seasons knowing his spirit was free, why worry where it wanders now?"Re: Regarding the Strangers (Redthorn/Lightgaze)

**It's different now,** Lightgaze replied. **I sometimes thought I could feel him, but he's gone. I moved on together with Longdusk, who, I realized, I lay too much claim on. I wanted that to change when we found the new holt..** She lifted her head so she could meet Redthorn's eyes.
**It's different, because now there's a way to communicate. I can't say I feel unhappy because he chose to go with us instead of staying at the father tree. You're right, it is a trial. I have things I want to tell him, but at the same time... I don't want to, not via another person. Plus, if I start, will there be a way to stop?**
She sighed. "Even if his spirit roams free, he's still dead. I feel that too, as much as I sometimes feel him close to me. Communicating with his spirit, I fear, will be the easy way not to move out, and it's completely against what we stand for."
