Shellslip gave Silverfang one of her bright smiles, and gave his hands a quick squeeze. "We didn't have much chance to really see the river last time, so we should definitely keep a sharp eye on things," she said. "Let's go now."
She started walking with Sniffer beside her. **Keep that nose of yours to the ground, puppy,** the gatherer told her wolf-friend. **If you find anything, let us know.**
**Yes,** Sniffer agreed jovially.

Silverfang nodded and followed Shellship.
Starfire walked slightly behind Sniffer.

Slipping her arm through Silverfang's, Firecat easily caught up. "I don't mind being with you, you know that," she sang to Shellslip in an earlier question, summonning Frostbite to come, as well. "And I don't mind being with you either. We can work together," she nearly grinned. If all went well, the journey ended soon, they had decent tree dens with WALLS, and they could be safe for the winter. Just a little while longer, she sighed. Not minding that Shellslip took the lead, she followed with Silverfang. "Let's see if the fish wants to bite," she said to none of them in particular.

"We kind of have to," Silverfang said to Firecat, "If the fish aren't biting, then this will be a huge waste of time." He was a bit confused by Firecat's sudden closeness. It's not like it bothered him, he just wasn't used to it. As they reached the river, Silverfang slipped his arm away and began looking for fish.

"I think we might want to look upstream first," Shellslip stated. "We already know there are mussels and such in this area, but I'm not sure how many there really are. And if we go that way, we might find some fish coming downstream. What do you two think?"

"How about this, I'll go downstream and fish. I can pick them out of the water pretty easily with this." Silverfang held up his glaive. "You guys can go upstream and find mussels and other things while you're at it."

Shellslip hesitated, unsure if she really wanted to leave Silverfang alone. Good company was good company, after all, but he did have a point. (And it was at the tip of his spear.) "All right, dear," she said, patting his shoulder, "if you're sure, that does sound like a good idea."

"We'll cover more ground, er, water that way," Silverfang said. He hopped across a couple of rocks towards the middle of the river. Carefully, he watched a fish. Suddenly and quickly, he jabbed the blade of his glaive into the water, but missed the fish. He felt his foot slip a little on the rock. He balanced himself and repositioned himself and jabbed at another fish. He missed again and feeling his foot slip more, he tumbled head first into the water.

Shellslip winced upon hearing the splash, and turned back around, returning to Silverfang. Oh, the poor thing looked like a wet, disheveled forest cat. "Need a hand, dear?" she asked, holding one out.

Silverfang grumbled and took Shellship's hand. He rubbed the sore spot on his soaked head. "That really hurt," he groaned.
