Evenstar was thinking on the new skins they'd obtained when the desire to dance struck her. Humming quietly and stroking the soft ravvit furs between her fingers under the bright starlit sky, she was leaned against the base of a young tree, only a short ways from her tribemates. Farpace was off with the pack, and undoubtedly Softling, on another great exploration of their new territory.
The night had always been her muse, so to speak. She found she knew these stars, but something had changed. Position, brightness, it was something small. Evenstar swayed gently, her light brown hair glimmering golden in the moonlight. She stepped lightly in a circle and sang softly, lifting her long arms to the bright moon above. It was fairly warm this night, and the small things of the forest stirred with the breeze.

When Evenstar's singing began, Windsoft looked out of the large den that Sunsong had managed to shape for the tribe. The plantshaper curled up in a fur, already sleeping, exhausted from her efforts. Windsoft caressed the plantshaper's cheek, noting that of them all, Sunsong was fairing worst on this trek. Her magic was still so new-come to her, and holt-glen had offered so little opportunity or need for her to grow. Now, each dawn, she used her magic to shape them a safe sleeping spot, and each dusk she undid the work so no sign of their passing remained.
"Poor cub," she murmurred. "Happy cub!" she added with a smile. Despite her exhaustion, Windsong had noticed that her tribemate's ever-present cheer became even happier with each day that passed.
Leaving Sunsong to sleep, Windsoft stepped outside under the stars. There was a wee bit of time left to go before dawn, and Windsoft needed no encouragement to stretch her muscles and join Evenstar in her dancing.
She joined the tanner, briefly clasping hands with her, then gracefully moving her body in the flowing rhythms of the song - turning and leaping, touching and withdrawing. She joined in Evenstar's singing, as well. There were no humans close enough to worry them and it felt good to sink into the Now.
