Hi, peachbug! Welcome to Westering Holt. My name is Anna and I'm one of the founders. I don't have much experience in Elfquest fandom despite being an appreciator of the series for a long time. Kris, the other founder, is the one with specific EQ fandom experience. So, anyway, we're glad to have you. Why don't you tell us a bit about yourself and the kind of character you'd like to play? Anna

Hey! I thought I posted yesterday, but I think my computer shut it off...Oh well. Anyhoo, I first picked up Elfquest around the age of ten, and recently got back into it. I've always wanted to join a holt, but never had the time. This looks great, so hopefully Characters...I have a couple ideas for characters, I think you told viola we could play more than one. If we are in male shortage of characters (guys joining holts seems to be in short supply) I can try that too. Basically, I love playing characters that aren't me. I love very stubborn hotheaded elves, like Krim or Kahvi, or quiet interesting ones like Teir or Moonshade. Are there any specifics on what you are looking for for this holt (tanners, etc.), or age limits on the characters (obviously, I'm not going to make an uber old elf, I'm just curious. Thanks for the welcome!

We try not to be too limiting. In order for someone to enjoy writing a character, the character has to be theirs in every sense - and by saying, "they can't be this, they can't be that, you need to do this, you have to do that" the character isn't so much yours anymore. Currently, we're evenly split between male and female - four of each. And yes, you can most definitely play more than one! I'm one of those people who find it impossible to play just ONE character, so if I can't limit myself, I'm not limiting anyone else, either. Our rules and guidelines list what can't be done: no psychotic elves, no Mary Sues, and if you make a magic user, you have to make at least on other elf in the same tribe that isn't a magic user. We will, eventually, be encountering and playing with sea elves and plains elves, too. So if you want to hold some ideas back for when we reach that point... If you're just getting back into ElfQuest, have you seen their digitial ElfQuest? I myself last track of the comics back in the middle of the Shards series - I think I moved, then couldn't find a local comic store that stocked 'em, so I was just out of luck. The Pinis apparently plan to have all the comic issues uploaded by the end of 2008 and I've been slowly catching up to everything that way. Not that it's important here - our timeline split from the canon timeline waaaaaay back in Rahnee She-Wolf's time, so our history is all our own. But you never know what interesting tidbits might appear or be hinted at here!

Thanks! And yes, I've been reading mostly via online lately. I dropped it when I was ten shortly before the conception of Tyleet, so I hadn't gotten too far in, but I'm mostly caught up now.

Heh. I have the comics, but they're packed where I can't get to them. So I've been refreshing my memory with the online versions too!
