Personality/History: Taraan is rather jovial, if a little smug. He does have an aire of - "I know something you don't know." Though that may fade with maturity. He excels at communicating skills, and is known for his skill at trading with trolls. He wears metal jewelry as a sign of both his dealings with them and his skills as a metalshaper.
His parents (recognized lifemates Ayen and Narees (Both deceased)) were hunters/traders as well, and they were the ones who first took him to the troll caverns on their own trading trips. But it was after he'd been fostered to Ouren, during a Mustering that his metalshaping powers emerged. He was visiting his parents and examining some of the trinkets they'd gotten from the trolls, and he felt the metal call to him, and respond to his touch. He was thrilled with his newfound powers, and disappointed by his lack of ability to use them as the band had such a limited quantity of metal. He began to take his own trip to the trolls, growing quite skilled at trading with them.
Ayen and Narees - meanwhile - had taken on a fostering from Minshah - Kren. On one of their trips to the trolls however, all three fell ill to a strange sickness. Ayen died before he made it back to their band. Narees managed to get herself and Kren back to Yeralyn, but succumbed to the sickness herself when she insisted their healer tend to Kren first. Though he lived, Kren is quiet and withdrawn. And firmly of the opinion that they elves should not go out for jaunts on their own - like Taraan's trading trips with the trolls. Though at odds with Kren about this, Taraan views his parent's old fostering as a younger brother. He feels protective of him, and enjoys seeing him during the Musterings.
Originally from the Yeralyn Band, Taraan was fostered to Ouren around nine. He fell in with the Talekeeper - who began to train him for the position when he was older. Taraan has enjoyed learning the history of the elves. Along with tales gathered during his trading of the trolls, he now knows alot of info on both races. He's still coming into his own as a Talekeeper and in some ways is struggling with his future responsiblity. He desperately wants to prove he'll be good at it, but doesn't want to seem to eager. He unfortunately tends to come off as a bit overconfident. To those who look past his shortcomings, though, Taraan is a true and loyal friend, and a much better listener than you would expect.
Okay, last one for now. LOL I created Taraan before Strell, but Strell formed up in my mind quicker. I originally was going to put him in just as the talekeeper, instead of being trained for it. But I decided I wanted to make him young, because his need to prove himself seems like more of something for a youth than a mature elf. So he became a sort-of apprentice instead. Let me know, though, if you still think he should be older.
