The RPs that take place in this forum are 'official.' If you post it here, it stays and there are no take backs. So think carefully before you post!
The purpose of these roleplays is to give members a common frame of references to build their stories around. Roleplaying is not our end goal: stories and artwork for the zine is!
There are some basic rules to remember for posting:
Sendings between elves and wolves should be posted in italics and what it is should be made clear in the writing. Private thoughts should be written in italics, and enclosed int single quotes, like so:
'I must get free of this net!' Windsoft thought frantically, struggling to reach her knife. Sunsong, run! The humans are coming! she sent, praying to the High Ones the plantshaper hadn't already be captured.
Do NOT use any character not your own unless you have permission. Let the Holt managers know you have permission, too, so we don't start growling at you.
If you're posting with more than one other person, keep in mind you will need to give others a chance to respond. Some people have more time available than others, and nothing is more frustrating than coming home from work to find that the people you were posting with took off on an tangent and anything that you had been planning was completely blown away. So take turns! Give everyone a chance!
If you're following a tangent of your own, start a new topic. Try to keep all posts 'on topic' within a thread. This avoids confusion.
If you want to participate in a thread that doesn't currently include you, PM the folks writing in it and see if you can be included. You're not being deliberately ignored, but barging right in might upset or obliterate a developing plot.
Most importantly, keep in mind that YOU are not your character. What's said to your character, about your character, is no reflection on you.
And, finally - have fun! Approach other members and start writing with them! Don't wait for them to approach you!
