Personality/History: Tevac was reluctant to be fostered, but it was a natural assumption in his family that he would be. It was with melancholy regret that he joined Tavol’s band, but he quickly made friends with Astierri and, in the following year, Sohnji. Having those two, and the love of his foster family, he didn’t miss his blood family as much as he’d feared.
His animal bonding gift bloomed early, and Tevac was forced to learn control and patience or see the animals around him, especially the horses, react and suffer whatever he was feeling. There were accidents in the first several years, until control became second nature and his magic didn’t spill over. Still, he treasures those times of peace when he can sink into the minds of the animals around him and be part of them.
While Tevac himself is a very calm individual, he treasures the wild and free spirits of his lifemates. At times he wishes he could be as unrestrained as they, but realizes that his solid rooting is their balance, and that the sure knowledge of his stability is what allows them the freedom to be themselves without fear. Since he can’t run wild anyway, he’s glad to know that his lifemates can, if they wish.
With two such high-spirited lifemates, there are frequently clashes. Tevac learned early not to take sides, but to separate them when tempers flared, and provide an open, nonjudgmental ear for both. He leaves it to them to settle the fights, and accepts them both regardless of what their arguments might be about.
Tevac’s life centers around his family, his lifemates. They’ve had two children together, and while it broke his heart to foster them, he knows the value of doing so. He’s very jealous of his time with his daughters, however, during Mustering time and that is the almost the only time when Tevac’s temper shows – when someone intrudes on that time with the family. Of course, as the years pass the family unit has gotten larger as lifemates, children, and grandchildren joined it.
