Personality/History: Firecat might look shallow in a first conversation, but there’s more to her than that. She indeed has a flirty, flighty character who likes to dart from one furmate to another. She loves a good tumble in her furs with both males and females alike, but refrains from having a closer relationship with them. She is impulsive and has an adventurous strike, doing things first and think about them later.
Firecat loves being around others and enjoys being the center of the attention. She loves the tribe and does her part to keep it going, but she also has a selfish part which wants to look out for herself, first of all. This may be a result from her having to raise her sister when their parents fell away, despite the help she got. She does have a sense of responsibility.
Not that she regrets it – she loves her bond with Evenstar and considers her not only as a sister, but also as a very good friend. In fact, part of the reason Firecat decided to follow Stormfire is to look out for her sister. She will never admit it, though, maybe she doesn’t even realize it herself.
But because of it, she knows how hard it is to raise a cub from near infant to an adult, and though she’s had much help from the tribe, she felt kind of relieved when Evenstar was old enough to live on her own. Since then, she enjoys her freedom and loves to live life to the fullest. She doesn’t want Recognition or a tight relationship, rather giving her love while feeling free to do whatever she likes.
Another part of her decision to go away was a lovemate who came too close. Stormfire’s announcement came at a right moment, more or less enabling Firecat to flee from deeper feelings before it was too late.
History:
[0-41] Goldeye was born to Woodsong and Moonglow, being the first child of very old parents who hadn’t expected to have cubs anymore at their age. Therefore, Goldeye was enormously spoiled. She wasn’t particularly outstanding in anything when she grew up to be a pretty adolescent, but soon realized how she could persuade people to do things for her. Her shiny, golden hair plus the way she would look at someone with shimmering eyes, was enough to make many potential furmates run for her.
Loving her youth, she lived in the Now, well-balanced in her wolf and elf blood. Her soulname was found after a short journey away, in which she lost her first wolf friend who protected her while she was meditating. A boar killed the young wolf and though it hurt and she cried, she got over it fairly quickly.
When her parents announced she would have a sibling at age 40, Goldeye felt overjoyed and a bit jealous in the process, not being her parents only child anymore. Still, she looked forward to have a baby brother or sister.
[41-85]With little Thicket born, Goldeye’s jealousy was swiftly forgotten because she adored the tiny she-cub from the first moment she saw her. Unfortunately, Moonglow died shortly after Thicket was born, and not long after Woodsong disappeared. Without thinking clearly about it, Goldeye took in her young sister, nurturing her into adulthood.
She didn’t want to admit it, but raising a cub was much harder than she had ever imagined, and even though she got help, she felt it took too much of her free time. This period caused her to dislike Recognition and tight bonds with furmates, because High Ones know, she could have another cub shortly. She wanted to have some time for herself, too. Still, she continued taking care of Evenstar, until the girl decided to move out and live on her own. Goldeye, now Firecat (named by one of her furmates) kept a close watch until she was confident Evenstar could look after herself.
[86-109] With Evenstar on her own, Firecat was able to pick up the life she had before, but things had severely changed. She had lovemated before because the fun of it, but now she didn’t want to let anyone come closer than regular furmates. Over time, it went slightly too far. She would push them away when either they or she started to develop some deeper feelings. She’s not really happy with this development, but for now, she can’t help it.
When Evenstar wanted to go with Stormfire, it was a good excuse for Firecat to break off another one of her almost-lovematings. She came close to love a male named Hazel, and persuaded him not to come along when he said he would. This way, she could keep an eye on her little sister and bolt from her own changing feelings.
Outlook on Life: I don't care what consequence it brings, I have been a fool for lesser things.
Thing to Remember: She’s not as shallow as she looks, but hides it well.
Sees Self As: One embracing life to the fullest.
